Lucas and I took a trip to Cancun in December. I think this was the first time we've ever left the kids longer than a day. It gave me great anxiety, but I knew they were in good hands.
Waiting for the guy to come pick us up from the airport. It was very humid and my hair does not like humidity.
We stayed at the Hyatt Zilara and it's all inclusive. They had a lot of yummy food and drinks!
When we were checking in they brought drinks over to us and I was naive and thought it was sparkling cider. Luckily Lucas stopped me before I drank it and got drunk off the wine.
I loved the Mexican Coke. (coca cola)
Lucas loved the pineapple juice.
This is the view from our balcony...AMAZING!!
We went at Christmas time and I loved all the Christmas decorations. They were playing Christmas music nonstop.
Paradise...
Lounging by the pool
I could've stayed there all day
The waiters were always coming up to us asking us if we wanted more drinks. We had to specify that we wanted the NONALCOHOLIC strawberry daiquiri.
Lucas tried the body board
I'm impressed with the height I got!
They had a foam party in the pool. We didn't really want to go dance around with all the drunk people, but it was really entertaining to watch.
Gorgeous view while we were eating lunch. That could be a postcard.
The resort
Lucas loved the hammock on our balcony. It was really entertaining to watch him try to get in it.
Very artistic
I really loved these beds by the pool. We tried to get this exact one every day because it had the best views.
Our hotel
Sunrise from our balcony
I don't know how I let Lucas talk me into taking a bike tour. Those orange vests were awesome. Of course we had to take a picture by Hard Rock for Lucas.
Lucas taking a selfie while riding a bike. The Chinese guy in front of me kept taking selfies and then he ran right into a cement pillar and flipped over his bike. He smashed his face really bad. Note to self...don't take selfies while riding a bike.
Back to the pool...
Happy Birthday to me!!!
On my birthday we took a tour to Chichen Itza. It was supposed to be a private tour with one of our friend's friends, but he had to cancel last minute. Luckily we were able to book a tour through the hotel.
It wasn't so fun for me because I was sick to my stomach the whole day. I guess that's what happens when you eat a bunch of strange food and drink a lot of strawberry daiquiris. I wouldn't recommend it.
Lucas walked around with the tour guide while I sat on a bench trying not to vomit.
I managed to be in a couple pictures.
After that they took us to a buffet for lunch.
I had a few sips of Sprite for my lunch.
Then we went swimming in a cenote. It was gorgeous!
Lucas was the brave one and jumped off the side. I feared that I might vomit and drown.
Since I wasn't feeling well enough to go to the restaurant, we ordered room service for my Birthday dinner and Lucas sang to me. It was an awesome Birthday!
Swimming in the ocean. The water is so blue!
Lucas is dreaming about parasailing. He really wanted to do it, but I'm too chicken. I always have to ruin the fun.
He had another strawberry daiquiri instead.
And I did too.
Our last day. The hotel was stunning...probably a little too nice for us.
Goodbye Cancun! I hope we see you again!
