Grandpa's 80th B-Day and more...

We celebrated my grandpa's 80th Birthday on Saturday. My mom had this really cool cake made. My grandma and grandpa loved it!

Here's me and my siblings with my grandma and grandpa. Caden and Halle can't leave me alone for one second.

Caden loves Birthday parties..
Halle too..
The cake was delicious!!

Apparently Audrey and Jason had a long day...

Jeremy bought a new dog named Cooper. At first Caden was very afraid of him, but now he loves him and asks about him all the time.

He even wanted to sleep by him..

This is Halle's new fashion statement. The box is her hat and the balloon is her purse. Kids can be very creative!

We had Stake Conference today. I am very proud of us because we actually stayed the whole time. Usually our kids freak out like an hour into it and we give up and leave. It is so hard to keep your kids entertained and well behaved for 2 hours. I found some file folder games that I made in high school for my preschool class. Caden loved them and he played with them the whole time. I should really make some more. Our stake conference was at the Ogden Tabernacle so when it was over we decided to drive up Sardine Canyon to see if the leaves had changed. Fall is my favorite time of year and that canyon is so pretty when the leaves change. The leaves haven't changed totally, but it was still worth it.

Good Deals

My kids have been driving me crazy lately! Last week I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown so I decided we had to get out of the house. We went to Walmart. (I know going there usually adds to the chaos) I found this swimming pool on clearance for $7. The kids loved it! I didn't love the part when I had to blow it up and they were asking every 5 seconds if it was done yet. They were able to have fun outside and I was able to keep my sanity for another afternoon.

Lucas has been wanting to plant more trees and all the stores are putting their trees on sale so they can get rid of them. We don't know anything about trees, but we ended up buying this Autumn Purple Ash for the front of our house. It was on sale at Lowes for a good deal. Lucas is hoping that it grows into a really good shade tree. We'll see if it was a good decision.

We've been trying to increase our food storage. We've been really bad at it, but it is slowly growing. Smith's is having a really good case lot sale this week so I took advantage of that. We might have enough food to get by for a couple weeks.

First Day of Preschool

I was very nervous for this day to come because I didn't know how Caden was going to react. We have been talking about it for a while to make sure he knew it was coming. Some days he was very excited and some days he said he was not going to go. I went to drop him off and he did not want me to leave, but then he spotted the toys and I quietly left. For the next 2 hours I was very nervous. I know I am an overprotective mom. I came and picked him up and he was actually smiling so that made me very happy. He showed me all the fun things he made and he was very excited. I asked his teacher how he did and she said he was pretty shy at first, but by the end of the day he did great! I am very glad we survived the first day of preschool. Hopefully Thursday goes just as well.

He was very excited to wear his Buzz Lightyear shirt. He would ask me every day if he could wear it and I told him he had to wait until preschool.

I guess this is a happy face...

Decorating and Drawing

I've been wanting to paint our bedroom ever since we moved into our house. The previous owners did a sponge painting on one of the walls and I hated it. We finally got around to painting it a couple of weeks ago. Here are the before and after pictures.

Caden always wants me to draw pictures and he never wants to draw himself. Today he decided to draw Woody and Buzz Lightyear and I was very proud of him. Here's the finished product.

Catching Up

I have been a slacker lately and I have neglected my blog. We've actually done a lot of things in the past couple of weeks. Sorry if this is picture overload. (I stole some pictures from you Emily)

For the fourth of July we went to the Magna parade with Lucas' family. It was pretty exciting. I was glad that it wasn't 100 degrees and it lasted less than an hour. That is my kind of parade.

After we had some lunch at Lucas' parents' house, we went to Nephi and had a barbecue at my grandma Eyre's house. It was a lot of fun to see all of my relatives because I don't get to see them very often.

Lucas had to do some work in Juab county so we stayed at my grandparents house for a couple of days. It happened to be the same week as the Ute Stampede so it worked out nicely.

Caden and Halle had a lot of fun at all of the parades.

The rodeo was a lot of fun. We were daring and tried new seats this year. They turned out to be way better. We might try them again next year.
This guy in Farmington has a cute, little train at his house that kids can ride. We went there with Tad, Sabrina, Erin and Aaron (and their kids). It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it. We went to eat at Firehouse after.Yummy!!!! Thanks for inviting us!

Boating!

We went to East Canyon boating today with Clyde, Norma, Dave, Logan, and Sam. It was a lot of fun. Caden and Halle were very brave and rode on the tube. I am a very overprotective mom and I thought I was going to have a heart attack, but they really enjoyed it. Caden freaked out when he had to get back in the boat. Thanks for the fun day!

Caden and Sam liked to drive the boat.
Halle caught a quick nap
Logan was practicing his surfing skills. Sam was showing how he could do it with no hands.
Caden was very brave

Halle was brave too!
