It was the Hendrickson Halloween Party a few weekends ago. Caden is terrified of Halloween. Any time he sees any Halloween decorations he freaks out. Sam's Club has the scariest decorations. Right when we walk in the door of Sam's Club, Caden closes his eyes and hides his head until we are done. I feel bad for the kid, but it is kind of funny. Lucas thinks Emily and I traumatized him when we took him on the Terror Ride at Lagoon. I think it builds character. For Halloween this year I let him pick out his costume. He said he wanted to be a dragon so that was the costume we got. Before we went to the Halloween party he said he was bringing his blanket with because he wanted to be a ghost too. I think he brought it so he could keep it over his head the whole time and he wouldn't have to see the scary decorations. This is what he looked like in the car on the way over...Halle, on the other hand, didn't want anything to do with costumes. She wouldn't put anything on so I figured the Halloween shirt from last year would do.
Mason was a very cute M&M
Neve was also cute in her costume. I can't believe she just turned 1.
This is Dallin as Mario...
Gracie was a cute Hannah Montana...
I thought the back of Caden's costume was adorable.
Lucas and Dave were brave enough to donate their bodies for the mummy game. Ella, Sam, and Kylee were big helpers.
The doughnut game is always fun.
And last of all, we decorated cookies...
This was the day I bid farewell to my trusty Camry. Now it is in the loving arms of Heidi and Eric. (I did shed a tear)

Kids say the funniest things
I never know what my kids are going to say. Here are some funny stories...
Caden: Mom, I pooed on the floor.
Me: Why did you do that?
Caden: I was trying to make my poo noises and it just came out.
He has also found a new love for winter hats...Here's a funny story about Halle...
Lucas: Where are your toes?
Halle:(points to her toes)
Lucas: Where is your head?
Halle:(points to her head)
Halle:(points to her bum) And this is my tail.
I don't know why I found that so funny, but I could not stop laughing. She has never said that before.
She also likes to carry around this Ernie toy that is like 2 inches tall. She doesn't call it Ernie, she calls it "My Big Bird." Don't ask me why. If she loses it, she screams until I tear the whole house apart to find it. I wish she could find a bigger toy to love.

Go Jazz!!
We took Caden to his first Jazz game last night. He was very excited and he couldn't stop talking about it. He wanted to be the one to give his ticket to the ticket guy. He is very independent. He was really into it during the first quarter. The guy in front of us was very impressed that he knew all the players names. He kept yelling "Memo for three!" We've trained him well. He started going down hill at the end of the 2nd quarter and he was alseep by the third quarter. For a three year old I thought he did pretty well. I forgot to take my camera so I took his picture with his ticket this morning. He wasn't really cooperating. I know it looks like he has a disease around his mouth. He keeps licking his lips and he won't stop so it's irritated now. Does anyone have a cure for that? I can't get him to stop.

This is Halle's new fashion statement. The box is her hat and the balloon is her purse. Kids can be very creative!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
We had Stake Conference today. I am very proud of us because we actually stayed the whole time. Usually our kids freak out like an hour into it and we give up and leave. It is so hard to keep your kids entertained and well behaved for 2 hours. I found some file folder games that I made in high school for my preschool class. Caden loved them and he played with them the whole time. I should really make some more. Our stake conference was at the Ogden Tabernacle so when it was over we decided to drive up Sardine Canyon to see if the leaves had changed. Fall is my favorite time of year and that canyon is so pretty when the leaves change. The leaves haven't changed totally, but it was still worth it.

Good Deals
My kids have been driving me crazy lately! Last week I thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown so I decided we had to get out of the house. We went to Walmart. (I know going there usually adds to the chaos) I found this swimming pool on clearance for $7. The kids loved it! I didn't love the part when I had to blow it up and they were asking every 5 seconds if it was done yet. They were able to have fun outside and I was able to keep my sanity for another afternoon.Lucas has been wanting to plant more trees and all the stores are putting their trees on sale so they can get rid of them. We don't know anything about trees, but we ended up buying this Autumn Purple Ash for the front of our house. It was on sale at Lowes for a good deal. Lucas is hoping that it grows into a really good shade tree. We'll see if it was a good decision.
We've been trying to increase our food storage. We've been really bad at it, but it is slowly growing. Smith's is having a really good case lot sale this week so I took advantage of that. We might have enough food to get by for a couple weeks.

First Day of Preschool
I was very nervous for this day to come because I didn't know how Caden was going to react. We have been talking about it for a while to make sure he knew it was coming. Some days he was very excited and some days he said he was not going to go. I went to drop him off and he did not want me to leave, but then he spotted the toys and I quietly left. For the next 2 hours I was very nervous. I know I am an overprotective mom. I came and picked him up and he was actually smiling so that made me very happy. He showed me all the fun things he made and he was very excited. I asked his teacher how he did and she said he was pretty shy at first, but by the end of the day he did great! I am very glad we survived the first day of preschool. Hopefully Thursday goes just as well.
He was very excited to wear his Buzz Lightyear shirt. He would ask me every day if he could wear it and I told him he had to wait until preschool.I guess this is a happy face...

Decorating and Drawing
I've been wanting to paint our bedroom ever since we moved into our house. The previous owners did a sponge painting on one of the walls and I hated it. We finally got around to painting it a couple of weeks ago. Here are the before and after pictures.Caden always wants me to draw pictures and he never wants to draw himself. Today he decided to draw Woody and Buzz Lightyear and I was very proud of him. Here's the finished product.
